"ZERO DOWN" is a festive one-night art event taking place on Saturday, June 4, 2016, in the studios and on the premises of the 1019WEST Artists Studio complex on the Inglewood-Westchester border, two blocks west of the 405 at 1019 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood. This year the multi-disciplinary artists from 1019WEST team up with artists from the Beacon Arts Building and guest performance artists to bring alive the entire site for an exciting evening of performance art, music, group exhibition, installations, and open studios staged at the massive retrofit building. 1019WEST appeared on the LA art scene five years ago to exceptional acclaim within the arts community, and is situated in an area that is now known as one of the burgeoning art scenes in LA.

More than 20 artists' studios at 1019WEST will be open to the public from 5:00-9:00 p.m., while performance artists will be juxtaposed throughout the site during the evening. A group show and installations of 1019WEST and Beacon Arts Building artists will be exhibited in the hallways and around the site.

Food and drinks will be available throughout the evening, and visitors will find ample street parking. Walk-in entrance only on West Manchester and Hindry Avenue.

"It's always interesting visiting with the artists here at 1019 West Manchester because everybody is unique and there's no single style or point of view. You can tell who is here working on art from the cars in the parking lot, which is never empty. This artist's campus is right on the glide path for LAX which lends it an air of never ending industry. Plus, there is an LA sort of logic to having art studios in an old automobile dealership," said Scott Grieger, Artist.

Participating artists from 1019WEST are: Mira Alibek, Susan Amorde, Michele Asselin, Nina Chin, Clerio Demoraes, Jeanne Dunn, Claire Jackel, Steve Jakobsen, Rachel Kaster, Henry Kitchen, Stuart Marcus, Jesus Max, David Newcombe, Melanie Newcombe, David Peters, Tony de los Reyes, David Spanbock, Ernie Steiner, Lacey Stoffer, Liza Vosbigian, Pontus Wilfors, Ashley Wilson.

Participating artists from Beacon Arts Building are: Brian Biedul, Darel Carey, Matthew Carey, Dosshaus, Bibi Davidson, Sue Francis, Nancy Jo Haselbacher, Shelley Heffler, Deborah Lambert, Tahnee Lonsdale, Michael Massenburg, Jen Meyer, Alexis Murray, Calida Garcia Rawles, Dawn Rosenquist, Katie Sinnott, Ginger Van Hook.

Performance art by: Kayla Tange, L.A. Mudpeople, Vittoria Colonna, and Elizabeth Tobias.

The event is sponsored by 1019WEST/Beacon Arts Building management, Shoebox PR and Kristine Schomaker, and 1019WEST/Beacon Arts Building artists, including: Susan Amorde, Jeanne Dunn, and Deborah Lambert.

ABOUT 1019WEST
1019WEST is a dynamic complex of creative workspaces where 30 multidisciplinary artists maintain studios. Located in Inglewood, just west of the 405 freeway, the building is situated in the middle of the larger creative community of the Beacon Arts Building, Otis College of Art and Design, and Loyola Marymount University. The now retrofit building and grounds were originally the location of the first VW dealership in Southern California. More information can be found on the website at: www.1019west.com.
